Unveiling the Luxury: A Peek into Our 27 Exclusive Accommodation Rooms

Welcome to The Trawool Estate, where luxury meets tranquility in the heart of the Goulburn Valley Ranges.
As much as we love to pour exquisite wines, we are not a winery, we are an Estate in its truest form;

Es·tate [ɪˈsteɪt, ɛˈsteɪt] An extensive area of land in the country, usually with a large house, owned by one person, family, or organization.

Boasting 27 meticulously designed accommodation rooms, each a testament to the seamless fusion of history and modern luxury, 4 dining areas; 2 restaurants, a traditional ‘pub style’ bar and an outdoor pizzeria, events spaces, extensive grounds, and nestled in the Trawool Valley and Australian bush, The Trawool Estate is exactly that. A large house, on Taungurung Country, waiting for you to explore!

Acquired by our current owners in 2019, The Trawool Estate underwent a massive renovation that brought this historic building—parts of which date back to the 1870s—into the modern world.

In 2019, under the skilled guidance of interior designer Amanda Tiernan from @neutral_instinct, the interiors of our hotel rooms were transformed into havens of comfort and style. Every detail, from the carefully selected furnishings to the soothing color palettes, reflects a commitment to providing an unforgettable guest experience.
Walking on the lush green carpet in our upstairs rooms, guests are intrigued by the dark and luxe halls that you delve into before opening your door to the bright, sophisticated rooms, that deliberately draw your eye towards the stunning bush views that our elevated hotel provides.

Wild Water, the main restaurant with iconic sweeping views of the Trawool Valley and Goulburn River, is named such, as the translation of the Taungurung word for Traawool, meaning Wild Water.
Tiernan used polished concrete, rendered walls and black metal features to simplify the space, and warm timbers in the detail and furnishings to bring the outside in. “It was always such an easy decision to create a space that heroes the stunning natural bush surrounds. Creating this space to dine in, was such a privilege to enhance, given the natural state we find ourselves in at Trawool.”

This historic property, previously known as The Trawool Resort, The Trawool Hotel, Trawool Primary School, and even the Trawool train station at a Granite Quarry, have evolved into a premier destination for those seeking a unique and luxurious escape. Join us on this virtual tour as we unveil the charm and elegance that define The Trawool Estate. And this history is honoured in the names of the hotel rooms in the main building; each one with a story to tell about significant people that walked these spaces before us.

History and heritage play a huge role at our Estate, with the remarkable transformation taking place currently (there are still areas of the hotel which are undergoing renovation) Retaining its historical charm while introducing modern amenities, The Trawool Estate is not merely a place to stay; it's a journey through time, where the echoes of the past harmonize with the comforts of the present.

When you stay with us, you'll discover the unique character of each room. Whether it's the panoramic views of the Goulburn Valley Ranges, the cozy fireplace corners, stained glassed doors and windows inside the main building, or the carefully curated décor, every space has its own story to tell.

Discover the allure of The Trawool Estate—where history meets modern luxury, and every stay is a celebration of the extraordinary.
